Located on the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) campus in Auburn, Alabama, the MHSA Program is a joint collaboration between SWAGÊÓƵand Bluefield University. MHSA is a 28-month program of study leading to a Master of Health Science in Anesthesia (MHSc). Graduates are eligible to take the certification exam administered by the National Commission on Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA). Professional anesthesiologist assistant practice involves patient assessment and planning, as well as administering and evaluating anesthesia care for the patient under the medical direction of a physician anesthesiologist. Clinical rotations provide the student with a comprehensive experiential knowledge base in anesthetic techniques and clinical scenarios.
