I believe SWAGÊÓƵhelped prepare me well by teaching me that failure is not an option despite the struggles and adversity faced along this journey. I look at setbacks in life as a way to teach patience and excellence in whatever task I am faced with. Every setback has a lesson and when that lesson is fully embraced, you reach a potential that has been hidden from plain sight.

What my Practice Looks Like today
As the years go by and I get more experience under my belt, I continue to evolve my skills as a dermatologist and leader in our medical community. At the start of COVID-19, I decided to revaluate what I wanted in my career and decided to start a practice in Naples, Florida. This was a huge leap of faith, especially with the US still riding the wave of COVID-19 and no guarantee in a rebound with our patient appointment volume. I opened the practice on September 1st and after two months of being in practice at my new office, I realized I made a great decision. The ability to have your own full autonomy and decision-making ability is priceless and this has propelled my career to the next level.
Going forward, I anticipate many changes in the field of medicine and I feel that the only way to truly reach your full potential as a medical provider is to have an open mind and constantly evolve as technology and research advance. You don't ever want to be that guy watching the train pull away from the station without you on it!
Life is good, count your blessings, strive every day to learn one new thing, make a difference in your community, and make it a goal to LISTEN to each and every patient you encounter. There is only one thing that the patients will remember when leaving your office; the way you made them feel. You have one chance to make a great and lasting impression. If you make that impression perfect and genuine, you will connect with your patients on a deeper and more gratifying level!
What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
The accomplishment I am most proud of thus far in my career is becoming a dermatologist. This was a long and tough journey with many setbacks and uncertainty. When I chose to pursue dermatology, I told myself that I would not give up no matter what adversity I would be faced with. Having a strong balance of both confidence and perseverance, gave me the ability to succeed at my end goal of becoming a Board-certified, Fellowship-trained Dermatologic Surgeon.
What is the best advice you can give a medical student to help them in their path towards being a physician?
Be KIND, stay HUMBLE, and INSPIRE CHANGE. Don't ever let anyone tell you how your future will play out. You alone are the conductor of your life journey and you have complete control over where your future leads. Stay true to yourself and follow your passion, even despite setbacks in life. I look at obstacles as learning opportunities and take what I learned to better myself personally.
When I am not working I enjoy
When I am not working I get to enjoy the time I get to spend with my wife, son and two pups. Since becoming a father, my whole perspective on life has changed and quality time with my family is my number one priority. When not making memories with my family, I love the time that I get to surf while immersing myself in the tranquility of the ocean surrounded by all of God’s wonderful creations.
