Ann K. Peton, MPH, director of the National Center for the Analysis of Healthcare Data (NCAHD) and the National Center for Rural Health Works (NCRHW), has been invited to join the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Information Workgroup as the group's vice chair.

The AOA Information Workgroup has been charged with developing a structure that will help the AOA effectively analyze and manage a wide variety of information, and to clearly communicate that information to its members. In addition, the workgroup will recommend improvements to the AOA website and work with the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine to enhance research submissions to the publication. The workgroup’s recommendations will be vetted and approved by the AOA Board of Trustees before implementation.

AOA President Teresa A. Hubka, DO, and AOA CEO Kathleen S. Creason invited Peton to join the workgroup because of her decades of experience across a broad range of healthcare research, specifically focusing on the impact of physician workforce through the NCAHD. Peton’s expertise will be critical to the success of the group’s work.

NCAHD, established in 2007, was founded by Peton and SWAGĘÓƵPresident Dixie Tooke-Rawlins, DO, as a business affiliate within the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). As a national research center, its mission is to create high-quality national workforce datasets that support healthcare planning, research, advocacy and policy development.
