Since 2007, NCAHD annually creates national databases of all actively licensed physician’s practice location as well as 14 other non-physician providers using our unique Enhanced State Licensure (ESL) automated process. To meet our mission, NCAHD has been collaborating with multiple federal and state government agencies (HRSA), national healthcare associations (AMA, AOA, AACOM, Physician Assistant Education Association, National Rural Health Association, etc.), medical training institutions and research organizations to address quality issues relative to

this data, to identify the most effective and practical means to utilize this information in support of research, medical education program planning, workforce shortage areas of concern, scope of practice legislation justification and other national and state healthcare workforce benchmark research. Over 250 political, demographic, socio-economic and other healthcare information healthcare datasets along with workforce data are available through NCAHD’s national healthcare workforce mapping portal found on the website: .

Since 2017, SWAGÊÓƵhas housed the federally funded National Center for Rural Health Works which conducts economic impact and community health needs assessment research for medical schools, hospital and healthcare systems, states and community stakeholders.
